 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter.  In a shocking turn of events, the Delhi Police have revealed that the gruesome murders of a couple and their daughter in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area were committed by their son, Arjun Tanwar. The victims, identified as Rajesh (55), his wife Komal (47), and their daughter (23), were found stabbed to death in their home early Wednesday morning.


Initially, Arjun claimed he had been out on his routine morning walk around 5 A.M. and returned to discover his family’s lifeless bodies. However, during police questioning, his story began to unravel, leading to his confession. Officials stated that Arjun had been harboring resentment toward his father and was upset over his parents’ decision to leave their property to his sister.


Police investigations revealed that Arjun’s motive stemmed from a deep sense of humiliation and jealousy. He confessed to planning the murders as an act of revenge against his family. The details of how he carried out the attack are still under investigation, but the use of a sharp weapon to stab the victims has been confirmed.


The incident has sent shockwaves through the Neb Sarai neighborhood. Neighbors described the family as quiet and reserved, expressing disbelief at the tragic events. The police have assured a thorough investigation and have taken Arjun into custody. Further legal proceedings are underway.
