 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. TWO NEW YORK MEN DIED AFTER USING BAT FECES AS FERTILIZER FOR THEIR MARIJUANA PLANTS. (PHOTO).

 Two New York men pass away after using bat feces as fertilizer for their Marijuana plants.


Two men from Rochester, New York have passed away after the bat guano they used to fertilize their Marijuana plants, released a harmful fungus.


The two men inadvertently breathed in spores of the Histoplasma Capsulatum fungus during the fertilization process leading to a condition known as Histoplasmosis. 


Their symptoms, before their untimely passing, included chronic cough, blood poisoning and respiratory failure. One man was 59-years-old and the other was 64-years-old . The two men contracted the condition independent of each other, with one man obtaining his guano online while the other collected it from his own attic.


Although guano is a popular fertilizer for use in Marijuana plants, experts warn against it due to the potential dangers.
