 Four North Carolina utility workers were tragically killed when a dump truck driver drove through a stop sign and crashed into a crew of workers. This heartbreaking incident occurred at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Eden, North Carolina. According to reports, a City of Eden dump truck driven by 66-year-old Michael Vernon ran a stop sign at the intersection of Carroll and Church Street in Eden. After blowing through the intersection, Vernon struck 6 utility workers with Duke Energy who were working on power lines for Carolina Power and Signalization. The dump truck then struck an occupied bucket truck before going off the road into a ditch. Four of the utility workers were sadly pronounced deceased on the scene while 2 others were life-flighted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.  Taraba Governor Kefas's Sister Dies from Gunshot Wounds Following Police Escort Incident


Atsi Kefas, the sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has tragically died from gunshot injuries sustained when she was accidentally shot by a police escort during an attempted bandit attack.


The incident took place last Thursday on Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area, Taraba State, as Atsi Kefas and the governor's mother, Jumai Kefas, were traveling. Gunmen ambushed the vehicle, and in the ensuing chaos, a police officer assigned to protect the family unintentionally shot Atsi while attempting to repel the attackers.


Atsi was immediately transported to an Abuja hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she passed away from her injuries. Sources close to the family confirmed her death, expressing condolences to the grieving family. The governor's office has yet to release an official statement.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
