  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. VIRGINIA MAN PASSES AWAY AFTER A BEAR THAT HAD BEEN SHOT, FALLS FROM A TREE AND CRUSHES HIM. (PHOTO).

 Virginia man passes away after a bear that had been shot, falls from a tree and crushes him.


58-year-old Lester Harvey Jr. passed away on the morning of December 9th due to freak hunting accident. Lester and a group of hunters had chased a bear up a tree. While it was in the tree someone in the hunting party shot the bear. After being struck by the round, the bear fell from the tree and struck Lester.


Fellow hunters attempted to render first aid until EMS arrived. Lester was rushed to an area hospital but sadly passed away Friday, December 13th.


Officials are not seeking charges in connection with the incident.
