  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Bukunmi described Mercy as a Phoenix rising from the ashes. 


She stated as Mercy’s movie Thin Line hits cinemas nationwide, she wants her to know how proud she is of the energy she puts into her work despite her recent challenges and the devastating loss.


 Bukunmi noted how she has shown incredible strength and resilience.


Bukunmi stated that her journey is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to persevere, rise above adversity, and create something beautiful from the ashes. 


She added that her new movie isn’t just a movie but a reflection of her courage, passion, and unwavering dedication to her craft.


The mother of one reminded Mercy that she isn’t alone and is surrounded by people who love, support, and are inspired by her strength.
