 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  2025 UTME: JAMB Reschedules Registration to Monday


The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a shift in the commencement of 2025 UTME registration to Monday.


In a statement issued on Friday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, explained that the adjustment was necessary to allow the board to implement essential modifications to its registration process.


“These changes follow the recent suspension of certain law programs at selected universities, as communicated to the Board by the Council for Legal Education. Additionally, JAMB discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres gained approval through deceptive means, necessitating further scrutiny and disapproval of such centres,” the statement read.


JAMB acknowledged the possible inconvenience the delay may cause to candidates and stakeholders and extended its apologies.


“The additional time will be used to ensure all necessary adjustments are made for a seamless registration process,” the statement added.
