Once Hardison opened the door for the delivery, the 2 men forced their way into the home and began to violently attack the 66-year-old man. The assailants proceeded to beat Hardison with a sledge hammer for approximately 8 minutes while demanding money.

Eventually neighbors heard his cries and came running to help. Sadly, they arrived to late and discovered Hardison badly beaten. The theives had made off with a meagerly $80 from the injured elderly man.

George Hardison ultimately needed 14 staples in his head as a result of the attack.

Amazon released a statement reminding the public that their drivers will never knock on your door or ask for a signature unless it has been prearranged with your full knowledge.
