A Jackson County Missouri employee was sadly killed while working with snow crew.
61-year-old Everett Carter was working with a 37-year-old man in a dump truck at approximately 4:30 p.m. on January 5th. As the two approached Ashland Avenue they stopped the truck and Carter exited the vehicle. After he exited the dump truck it began to slide. While sliding out of control, the dump truck struck Everett Carter. It also struck a parked car on the road.
Sadly, Everett Carter lost his life after being struck by the dump truck.
After this heartbreaking accident, Jackson County pulled all crews off of the roads until 7 a.m. Monday morning. Jackson County released a statement expressing their grief at the loss, saying "Everett had dedicated 40 years of his life serving the county".
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Everett Carter who tragically passed away in service to his community.
