 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU RECONSTITUTES NNPC LIMITED BOARD, APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN, GROUP CEO President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a sweeping reconstitution of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited board, removing the chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure and the group chief executive officer, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari.   President Tinubu removed all other board members appointed with Akinyelure and Kyari in November 2023.   The new 11-man board has Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group CEO and Ahmadu Musa Kida as non-executive chairman.   Adedapo Segun, who replaced Umaru Isa Ajiya as the chief financial officer last November, has been appointed to the new board by President Tinubu.   Six board members, non-executive directors, represent the country's geopolitical zones. A SECOND GRADER IN TEXAS HAS DIED AFTER THEIR COAT GOT CAUGHT IN THE CAR DOOR WHILE BEING DROPPED OFF AT SCHOOL. (PHOTO).

 A second grader in Texas has died after their coat got caught in the car door while being dropped off at school.


This tragic accident took place at Gateway Elementary School in Borger, Texas on Friday morning. According to reports, a second grade student was being dropped off for school in the drop off area at approximately 8 a.m. when the unthinkable happened.


As the child attempted to exit the vehicle (not a bus) their coat became caught in the door. However the driver was unaware of the problem and began driving away. The child sustained significant injuries due to the incident and life saving measures were attempted on scene.


EMS responded and the child was rushed to a nearby hospital but sadly passed away as a result of the injuries.


Our thoughts are with this poor child's family and the entire school community as they cope with this unthinkable tragedy.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
