 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity.  Adult film Star Falls From Hotel Balcony While Allegedly Filming X-Rated Scene With Two Men


Anna Beatriz Pereira Alves, also known as Anna Polly, fell to her death from a Brazilian hotel balcony after inviting two men to film X-rated scenes for an adult site.


Police have not ruled out the possibility of a crime. The two men reportedly gave conflicting accounts of what occurred before the plunge .

No arrests have yet been reported.


A police homicide unit is analysing hotel CCTV images as part of its investigation and has already quizzed staff. Alves' mobile phone was collected as evidence.

The results of the post-mortem have not been made public and it is not yet clear if there was a presence of drugs in Alves' system or anything suggesting she was a victim of sexual violence.

Investigators have described their ongoing probe as 'complex' and say they are keeping an open mind on the adult entertainer's death - which they say could be an accident or a crime. 


The woman, aged 23, was found lifeless in a courtyard at an aparthotel in Nova Iguaçu, roughly 25 miles (approx. 40 km) northwest of Rio de Janeiro.


The fatal incident occurred on January 23, but reports emerged six days later.
