 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Anyanwu resumes as PDP National Secretary amid crisis


Embattled Samuel Anyanwu has resumed office as National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.


It was gathered that he arrived at the party secretariat around 10:56am and headed straight for his office where he was received by his personal staff.


Speaking to newsmen while sitting at his desk, Anyanwu dismissed a statement credited to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.


Ologunagba had confirmed to reporters that the party had received the Appeal Court judgment recognizing Sunday Okoye as National Secretary.


In response, Anyanwu said: “That is his opinion. It’s not the opinion of the party.


“As National Publicity Secretary of the party, I wouldn’t want to disparage him. Maybe he didn’t get the facts correctly. I have appealed.”
