 Drones hit east Congo's biggest city, killing French aid worker, rebels and UN say Drone strikes hit Goma in east Congo ​on Wednesday, killing at least three people including a French aid worker, the ‌first such attack in the city since AFC/M23 rebels seized it last year, according to the group and the U.N. The AFC/M23 blamed the attack on the Congolese army, saying in a post on X that Kinshasa ​had launched drones against a densely populated urban area in the lakeside city. A senior official for U.N. children's agency UNICEF told Reuters ​that one of its employees, a French national, was killed. French President Emmanuel Macron and Hadja Lahbib, ​European Commissioner for equality, preparedness and crisis management, condemned the attack in posts on X, calling for respect for international humanitarian law and saying aid workers must never be targeted.  Lagos Police Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin Promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police

The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has been elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).


Hundeyin, who succeeded Adekunle Ajisebutu as Lagos police spokesman in 2022 while serving as a Superintendent of Police (SP), announced his promotion on Wednesday.


He shared photos of his decoration by Lagos Police Commissioner Ishola Olawale, captioning the moment on X:

"Behold the latest Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in town. It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes."

Hundeyin holds a BA in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also has a certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna.


A member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Hundeyin has had an illustrious career.


He previously served as the PPRO at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, and was part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. Additionally, he held the position of Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
