 Residents Of Kachia Commend Gov. Uba Sani, CDS Musa Over Military Base Project Residents of Awon Ward in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State have commended Governor Uba Sani and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, for approving the establishment of a military Forward Operations Base (FOB) in the Barga community. They described the development as a major step toward restoring peace and stability in an area long plagued by armed banditry and other security challenges. During a media tour of the project site in Barga, a community leader, Mr. Zanko Adamu, told Salama News that persistent attacks by bandits had forced many residents to abandon their homes and farmlands in search of safety. He said the establishment of the military base would go a long way in curbing the activities of criminal elements who have been using the area as a route to the Rijana forest—reportedly one of their major hideouts.  'Bullets Didn't Penetrate': Yomi Adetula Murdered In Ogun Church By Assassins 


Yomi Adetula, Key Witness for FIJ in IBD Dende’s Libel Lawsuit, Murdered by ‘Assassins’


Yomi Adetula, the Director, Anti-Arms Smuggling of the Social Orientation and Safety (So-Safe) Corps in Ogun State, has been murdered by suspected assassins in Idi-Iroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.


According to multiple residents of Idi-Iroko, Adetula was in his church, located off Old Baggage Road, Idi-Iroko, when gunmen who were also bearing other dangerous weapons invaded his church minutes after 10am on Sunday, attacking him.


“They first shot him but the bullets did not penetrate him,” one resident told FIJ. “They then proceeded to inflict fatal wounds on him with their other weapons, which include hammer and machete. From the way they operated, it’s clear they were hired assassins.”


FIJ saw gory photos of Adetula’s corpse, his face disfigured, his trunk blood-stained, ostensibly from gunshot wounds.


Adetula is one of the witnesses listed by FIJ in its defence of the libel lawsuit filed by IBD Dende in response to FIJ’s undercover investigation and subsequent documentary on smuggling, and the ‘Good Morning Nigeria Customs’ tweets by its founder ‘Fisayo Soyombo.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
