 “We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence.  China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit Nigeria on Wednesday


China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, is set to arrive in Abuja on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, for an official visit to Nigeria. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and China.


Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, will engage in high-level discussions during his stay. He is scheduled to meet with Nigeria's Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, on Thursday, January 9, for bilateral talks focused on enhancing cooperation, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and technology.


The visit will also include a courtesy call on President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where Wang Yi will deliver a special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.


The announcement was made by the Acting spokesperson for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, who confirmed that Wang Yi will be received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed.


This visit is expected to further strengthen ties between the two nations and open new avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
