 EFCC Arraigns Austrian For Undeclared $800,585, €651,505 At Lagos Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Okotie Eboh, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 9, 2026, arraigned one  Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. He was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos.  Onal who was scheduled to travel on Emirates Airline to Dubai, was on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 intercepted  during a routine check at the AML/ CFT Currency Declaration Desk at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

 Copa del Rey: 14 Clubs Advance to Round of 16 [Full List]


Fourteen teams have secured their spots in the Copa del Rey round of 16 following the conclusion of Sunday's round of 32 matches.


Elche delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Las Palmas, with goals from Rodri Mendoza, David Affengruber, Jose Salinas, and Nicolas Fernandez to book their place in the next round.


Real Sociedad also progressed with a 2-0 win over Ponferradina, while Celta Vigo triumphed 3-2 over Racing.


Alongside Elche, Real Sociedad, and Celta Vigo, the following teams have qualified for the round of 16: Barcelona, Osasuna, Real Betis, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe, Ourense, Leganés, Almería, Atlético Madrid, Athletic Club, and Pontevedra.


Remaining round of 32 fixtures will be held today and tomorrow, including Real Madrid's match against Deportivo Minera on Monday night and Valencia's clash with Eldense.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
