 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state.  FG Prepared to Receive Deported Nigerians from US – NiDCOM


The Federal Government is prepared to receive Nigerians deported from the United States, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).


NiDCOM’s Director of Media and Corporate Affairs, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated that an inter-agency committee, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the National Security Adviser’s office, has been set up to manage the situation.


However, Balogun noted that NiDCOM has not received any official information regarding Nigerians currently being processed for deportation.


This comes amid reports that 3,690 Nigerians in the US face deportation as part of Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants.
