 LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations. The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts. The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State. LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences.  FG Prepared to Receive Deported Nigerians from US – NiDCOM


The Federal Government is prepared to receive Nigerians deported from the United States, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).


NiDCOM’s Director of Media and Corporate Affairs, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated that an inter-agency committee, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the National Security Adviser’s office, has been set up to manage the situation.


However, Balogun noted that NiDCOM has not received any official information regarding Nigerians currently being processed for deportation.


This comes amid reports that 3,690 Nigerians in the US face deportation as part of Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants.
