The Federal Government is prepared to receive Nigerians deported from the United States, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
NiDCOMās Director of Media and Corporate Affairs, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, stated that an inter-agency committee, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the National Security Adviserās office, has been set up to manage the situation.
However, Balogun noted that NiDCOM has not received any official information regarding Nigerians currently being processed for deportation.
This comes amid reports that 3,690 Nigerians in the US face deportation as part of Donald Trumpās crackdown on illegal immigrants.
