 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

Fouad Oki narrates how Impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa delayed Gov Sanwo-Olu for five hours, and refused to apologize


A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Fouad Oki, during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, has shed more light on the impeachment of Hon. Mudashiru Obasa by the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.


When he was talking during the interview, he said that there was a particular time that the state governor wanted to present the 2025 appropriation bill to the House, he (Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu) was kept waiting for five hours inside the chamber and when the impeached Speaker came, he didn't apologize to anyone.

He said, "Recall of the day when the governor presented the 2025 appropriation bill. Not only was the governor was kept waiting for 5 hours, the leadership of the party, and other dignitaries that were invited to the event we also kept waiting for 5 hours, because they wanted to witness the epic event. They were kept waiting for five hours with no apology and no excuse. When Hon. Mudashiru came into the chamber, courtesy was not extended to any, rather it was a situation of letting people know that he is the emperor there."


Obasa's days were numbered a long time ago"


He saw himself as an Emperor that could not be advised or admonished. When Tinubu returned for the New Year, in his wisdom as leader and father of the Party in Lagos, he called everyone and saw that the former Rt Hon was recalcitrant and that broke the camel's back.


Fouad Alade Oki hails from the royal Bamgbose Ologbon family in Isale Eko. He is an APC Chieftain and political strategist in the Party.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
