 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. Fuji Legend Wasiu Ayinde Loses Ex-Wife  


King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate, has lost one of his ex-wives, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe.  


The deceased was the mother of Honourable Idayat Anifowoshe, a Special Assistant on Special Duties to Dr. Mayor Muibi Alade Folawiyo, Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Authority (LIELCDA).  


Alhaja Anifowoshe passed away earlier today at the age of 65 following an undisclosed ailment. Her burial took place at Abari Cemetery in Lagos in accordance with Islamic rites.  


In a condolence message, Olushoga Olushola, Chief Press Secretary to the LIELCDA Chairman, expressed sympathy to Honourable Idayat, stating:  

*”Losing a loving mother is deeply painful. We hope you find comfort in her remarkable life and the legacy of service she left behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”*  


May her soul rest in peace.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
