 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Governor Uba Sani Resolves NUT Endwell Scheme Dispute, Approves N548M Payment


Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has directed the release of N548 million to settle the long-standing dispute between the State Government and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) over the Endwell Scheme.


The dispute had resulted in prolonged litigation, affecting thousands of teachers across the state. 


Acknowledging the challenges faced by the teachers, Governor Uba Sani took decisive action to prioritize their welfare and ensure justice through this significant resolution.


According to the state government, the  agreement, signed today, January 30, 2025, marks a pivotal step in improving teachers’ welfare and strengthening the partnership between the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) and NUT. 


"This decision underscores the Governor’s commitment to education, good governance, and the well-being of teachers."
