 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. Hostage Video and Renewed Ceasefire Talks Amid Intensified Israel-Gaza Conflict


Hamas has released a video showing 19-year-old Israeli captive Liri Albag, urging her government to negotiate for her release. Albag, along with six other female soldiers, was captured during Hamas's October 2023 assault on Israel. Despite indirect talks between Israel and Hamas over a ceasefire and hostage release, Israel's military continues intensive airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in heavy casualties, including the deaths of 88 people in the past 24 hours. The conflict has led to widespread devastation, with civilians suffering from bombings and rocket attacks.


Israel's President Isaac Herzog pledged to continue negotiating for the hostages’ return, while Albag’s parents appealed for immediate action from the Israeli government. Meanwhile, tensions escalated with the interception of a missile from Yemen, launched by the Houthi group, signaling broader regional involvement. The war, which began on October 7, 2023, has already claimed over 1,200 Israeli lives, with 251 still held captive by Hamas.
