Indianapolis man arrested after being captured in a shocking doorbell camera video screaming death threats to a minor and punching the minor child. This outrageous incident happened at Heatherwood Estates on the 25th, Saturday.
An Indiana man, 45-year-old Jason Harrell, has been arrested and charged with battery and battery with injuries to a minor following an incident that has left many in the community outraged.
In the video shared on social media you can see the young child sitting on a small motorcycle. He appears to simply be "playing" around in a snow drift when Jason Harrell suddenly pulls up in a white van. The child was doing nothing wrong in the video which starts a full minute before Harrell pulls up. The child is seen sitting stationary (and quietly) while looking at a snow drift around his bike.
After pulling up, Harrell began verbally abusing the young child in an obscenity-laced tirade. During this outburst, he repeatedly threatens to kill the child and his father, in his words, "if he ever sees him on his street again". The child responded "yes sir" and remained calm.
Early on, the child tried to de-escalate the situation by remaining calm and referring to the screaming man as "sir". The child's friendly nature and agreeable attitude for some reason causes Harrell to exit his vehicle and throw the young child to the ground before punching him in the face while he laid helpless in the snow. The child even responds "yes sir" after being punched in the face and his life threatened.
The injured boy gets back up and starts his motorcycle and begins to try to leave as he was asked to do. The video ends showing Harrell making an aggressive u-turn in the street and seemingly began to chase the young boy.
An arrest was made on Saturday after the mother reported the incident to police and they reviewed the shocking footage. She shared the video online in an attempt to make neighbors aware of the potential danger this man presents to children in the neighborhood. In her post to social media she mentioned that Harrell is a pastor and a business owner and his wife works for the city.
