 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.   Limpopo fugitive arrested after 6 months of hiding in Olievenhoutbotch, Gauteng province 


After strangling to death a 59-year-old man in Sebayeng location in July 2024, Tebogo 'Lepai'  Maboa went to a hideout in Olievenhoutbotch, Gauteng province. 


Police received tip-off and he was arrested on Tuesday, 21 January 2025. He also appeared before Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 23 January 2025. Facing a charge of murder. He was remanded in custody and his case was postponed to the same date to join his fellow co-accused.


The other four suspects consisting of one male Wilson Mashao Malatji (24), Tebatso Mahakwana (23), Flora Mabitsela (39) together with the mother of a 22 year-old suspect, Kate Maboa (41) later appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate court on Friday 17 January 2025 facing a charge of murder. 


The suspects were remanded in police custody and the matter was postponed until Tuesday 28 January 2025 for formal bail application and further police investigations.
