  NBC bans Eedris Abdulkareem’s protest song ‘Tell Your Papa’ from radio, TV The National Broadcasting Commission has barred Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song “Tell Your Papa” by veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, citing its “objectionable nature.” In a memo dated April 9, 2025 and issued by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the commission declared the track Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. This section prohibits content deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency from being aired on Nigerian broadcast platforms. According to the NBC, while the song has gained momentum across social media platforms, its lyrical content fails to meet the standards of responsible broadcasting. LIMPOPO FUGITIVE ARRESTED AFTER 6 MONTHS OF HIDING IN OLIEVENHOUTBOTCH, GAUTENG PROVINCE. (PHOTO).

  Limpopo fugitive arrested after 6 months of hiding in Olievenhoutbotch, Gauteng province 


After strangling to death a 59-year-old man in Sebayeng location in July 2024, Tebogo 'Lepai'  Maboa went to a hideout in Olievenhoutbotch, Gauteng province. 


Police received tip-off and he was arrested on Tuesday, 21 January 2025. He also appeared before Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 23 January 2025. Facing a charge of murder. He was remanded in custody and his case was postponed to the same date to join his fellow co-accused.


The other four suspects consisting of one male Wilson Mashao Malatji (24), Tebatso Mahakwana (23), Flora Mabitsela (39) together with the mother of a 22 year-old suspect, Kate Maboa (41) later appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate court on Friday 17 January 2025 facing a charge of murder. 


The suspects were remanded in police custody and the matter was postponed until Tuesday 28 January 2025 for formal bail application and further police investigations.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
