Freddie Jackson, R&B Legend Behind “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight,” Dies at 70 R&B has lost one of its most unmistakable voices. Freddie Jackson, the singer whose smooth delivery helped define romantic R&B during the 1980s and gave generations of listeners songs including “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody,” has died. He was 70. Jackson’s death was announced Tuesday, October 6, through his verified Instagram account. According to the memorial shared by his family and team, the singer died Monday night, October 5. The announcement did not disclose a cause of death. “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson,” the statement read, describing the singer as a generous soul who loved his fans, family, friends and music.  Liverpool v Manchester United to go ahead at Anfield


Liverpool's Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon will go ahead as planned despite overnight snow at Anfield. A final safety meeting was held at midday when it was decided the game could kick off as scheduled at 16:30 GMT. 


Much of the north-west of England woke up to snow on the ground on Sunday morning and the weather and travel conditions had to be checked before it was ruled the game could be played. "Today's fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned," Liverpool said. 


Manchester United confirmed it has "been deemed safe for fans to attend" the match. An amber weather warning for snow and ice is in place for much of northern England.


The conditions forced airports in Manchester and Liverpool to temporarily close on Sunday morning, while sleet and rain showers are forecast for the area this afternoon.
