 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine.  Many feared dead as petrol tanker explodes in Delta


Some people reportedly died in Agbor town in Delta State after a petrol-laden truck erupted in flames in a densely populated area of the metropolis.

Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area in Delta State, was rocked by the explosion on Sunday afternoon. 

The incident occurred when a 33,000-litre tanker, which had been near First Bank, exploded while the driver was making a turn on the busy Old Lagos/Asaba Road.

The blast caused widespread damage, setting several houses and vehicles on fire.

Eyewitnesses told The Nation that some residents and passersby attempted to extinguish the flames, but the fire continued to rage.

Some houses and vehicles around the scene were severely damaged, with some still burning. 

The body of a car owner who was reportedly burnt beyond recognition was found on the road.
