  Abakaliki, Ebonyi State - In a shocking move, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has ordered the arrest of six commissioners and the suspension of the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Mr. Timothy Nwachi, over alleged involvement in a breach of contract for the construction of 140 housing units for Izzo and Amaze communities. The affected commissioners, who were declared wanted by the state government before their arrest, are: - Professor Omari Omaka (Tertiary Education) - Victor Chukwu (Environment) - Ifeanyi Ogbuewu (Culture and Tourism) - Uchenna Igwe (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters) - Moses Ekuma (Health) - Felix Igboke (Project Monitoring) According to the Chairman of the State Executive Council Committee on Izzo and Amaze Housing Project, Ilang Donatus, the governor took the action due to the slow pace of work on the project, which was intended to be completed in time for his two-year anniversary in office.  Nigerian-American Woman Returns $5,700 Found in Workplace Restroom


Victoria Ogunremi, a Nigerian-American based in New Jersey, returned $5,700 she discovered in the restroom at her workplace. Her act of honesty has been widely praised by her employer, colleagues, and the money’s owner, who expressed immense gratitude.


In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Ogunremi revealed that her decision was driven by empathy for the person who lost the money and her strong Christian values.


“I didn’t hesitate because my faith teaches me that honesty brings peace of mind. The thought of the distress this loss could cause inspired me to act,” she explained.


Ogunremi located the money’s owner before notifying her workplace management, who commended her integrity. She noted that her late father’s teachings on morality have shaped her life and emphasized the importance of instilling such values in future generations.


“Whether someone is watching or not, doing the right thing matters. A good name is priceless, and peace of mind is golden,” Ogunremi said, adding that honesty always outweighs material gain.


Her selfless act has been celebrated as a testament to integrity and compassion, offering a shining example of doing what is right even in challenging circumstances.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
