 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Dissolves Cabinet, Retains Finance Commissioner, Attorney General


Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has dissolved the State Executive Council, which includes commissioners, special advisers, and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).


However, two key members of the cabinet were exempted from the dissolution due to the essential nature of their roles. These are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, and the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac.


This development was announced in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, in Akure, the state capital.


The statement directed all affected cabinet members to hand over government properties in their possession to the accounting officers of their respective ministries.


Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude to the outgoing cabinet members for their service and contributions to the development of Ondo State and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.
