ONLY NATIONAL CONVENTION CAN REMOVE ME AS PDP NATIONAL SECRETARY -ANYANWU.(PHOTO).

National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has reaffirmed his position, stating that he can only be removed through a national convention, as he was elected through the same process.

Anyanwu made this declaration during a meeting with stakeholders from the South East zone, including members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Anyanwu recounted how he had informed the party of his intention to contest the governorship of his state in 2023 and had requested a three-month leave, asking his deputy to take over temporarily.

However, he alleged that former South East Zonal Vice Chairman, Ali Odefa, had conspired against him, deceiving Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State into believing that Anyanwu's resignation was necessary.

The PDP National Secretary emphasized that his position is protected by the party's constitution, which stipulates that a national officer can only be removed through a national convention.

This development has exacerbated the crisis within the PDP, with factions emerging and opposing views on Anyanwu's tenure.
