  Embattled Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau says he will resign after new party leader chosen Justin Trudeau has said he intends to step down after nine years as Canadian prime minister in the face of a mounting set of crises, leaving office once a new ruling party leader is chosen. “I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its new leader,” the 53-year-old leader told reporters at a news conference in Ottawa on Monday. “I care deeply about this country and I will always be motivated by what is in the best interests of Canadians. And the fact is, despite best efforts to work through it, parliament has been paralyzed for months after what has been the longest session of a minority parliament in Canadian history,” he said, adding that the country’s parliament will be suspended until March 24 while a new leader is chosen.  President Tinubu arrives Enugu, commissions multiple projects


President Bola Tinubu on Saturday visited Enugu State where he commissioned multiple projects.

This is his first official trip to the state since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

He was accompanied by top dignitaries, including the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

He arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, in the afternoon from where he proceeded to various locations within the State capital.

In the Coal City State, Tinubu inaugurated some projects embarked upon by the Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah-led administration.

Tinubu inaugurated smart green schools, rural roads, and 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras, equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres out of the 260 under construction across the 260 wards in the state.

Others are the completed multi-auditorium and multi-functional Enugu International Conference Centre, 90 completed urban roads in Enugu City, a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre as well as 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras.
