‘I’ll turn off the mic’ — Remi Tinubu reins in Adeleke’s singing at Ooni’s anniversary First Lady Oluremi Tinubu cautioned Ademola Adeleke, the Osun state governor, for prolonged singing during his remarks at the 10th coronation anniversary celebration of Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. The moment, captured in a now-viral video, occurred as the governor mounted the podium on Sunday to pay tribute to the monarch and to congratulate the Remi on her newly bestowed chieftaincy title, Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua. Rather than proceed immediately with his formal message, Adeleke, popularly known as the “Dancing Governor” for his spirited public appearances, burst into a short musical chant, drawing laughter from parts of the audience.  Reforms: Northeast group condemns Bala Mohammed, Al-Mustapha; backs Tinubu for 2027

Following the recent criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies by prominent northerners, the Northeast-based socio group, Forum for Northeast Development, has condemned Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late former Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha.

The forum, which claimed Tinubu’s reforms would greatly benefit the North in the long run, said it has carefully studied the President’s actions since he was sworn in and discovered that he means well.

It further stated that it has come out to back the new tax reform policies initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because the Northeast and the entire northern region will benefit immensely.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Forum, Alhaji Baba Mala Biu and Comrade Lawan Mohammed, the Forum for Northeast Development said:

“First, we have no reason to complain because the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, is from the Northeast geopolitical zone, and we believe he can’t betray us as a people, being one of the trusted individuals we rely upon politically.

“It is really unfortunate that some northerners, such as Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed and former Chief Security Officer to the late former Head of State, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, have raised voices against a President who is working hard to restore the economy and the indices of growth and development.”

While urging the people of the Northeast and other parts of the North to remain hopeful and have confidence in the Tinubu-Shettima-led administration, the Forum expressed optimism that the tax reform policies and other economic reforms are geared toward establishing a solid foundation for sustainable development in the region.
