 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. SPECTATOR DIED AFTER A HAMMER THROWN BY AN ATHLETE FLIES OUT OF BOUND AND STRUCK HIM . (PHOTO).

 Spectator loses his life when a hammer thrown by an athlete flies out of bounds at high-school track/field event.


This tragic incident took place Sunday, January 26th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 


Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the campus of UCCS where a track meet was being held by Colorado United Track Club. 


Upon arrival they were directed to a spectator in the audience who reportedly had been struck by a "hammer" thrown by a student. The hammer had went past the certified barriers and struck the man in the head. 


First aid was rendered but ultimately the man was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim has not been identified by name but has been reported as being the father of one of the athletes from Vista Ridge high-school.
