 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  WE MOURN RT. HON. (DR.) OTUNBA ADEWUNMI ONANUGA (IJAYA)


We join the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, fondly known as IJAYA, in mourning her devastating and sudden passing. Her death is an irreplaceable loss to Ogun State and the entire nation.


Until her transition, she served diligently as the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency. Her unwavering courage, loyalty, and commitment to the advancement of women and the well-being of her constituents were exemplary.


We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the leadership of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and all members of the Green Chamber. IJAYA’s contributions to humanity and public service remain a legacy we hold dear.


As we grieve this extraordinary leader, we pray for the repose of her soul and strength for her family to bear this profound loss. May her memory inspire us to continue working for the good of all.
