 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Why I performed at Onikijipa’s daughter’s wedding same day I lost my mother — K1 De Ultimate


Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has explained the reasons for his performance at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of renowned Nigerian Sheikh, Faruq Onikijipa, on the same day he lost his mother. Alhaja Halimot Shadiya Anifowoshe, who die*d at the age of 105 on Saturday.


Shortly after bury*ing his late mother in Ijebu, Ogun State, earlier in the day, the Fuji star made his way to the wedding, which took place at Balmoral, Federal Palace, Victoria Island, Lagos State.


Reflecting on his lo*ss while performing at the wedding ceremony, K1 revealed the profound impact of his mother’s dea*th on him.


However, he emphasised that the special bond he shares with Sheikh Onikijipa made him attend and perform at the wedding against all odds.


According to him, his friendship with Onikijipa dates back in time, stressing that they have been friends since their youth.


He also used the opportunity to invite guests at the event to the Fidau prayers for his mother, scheduled to take place on Friday, 24 January 2025, in Ijebu, Ogun State.
