 Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Recover Weapons, Cash In Kaduna Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 kidnapped victims and recovered arms, ammunition and ransom money in a successful operation in Kaduna State. The rescue followed the abduction of several women from their farms in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area, on 29 November 2025. Security forces launched an immediate search-and-rescue mission to track the kidnappers. According to military authorities, the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on 5 December 2025, when troops intercepted the kidnappers during an attempted ransom collection. The armed group reportedly came under heavy fire, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon the hostages.  5.2-magnitude hits Morocco, no damage reported


A 5.2-magnitude earthquake rattled Morocco with no reported damage or casualties, the state media said on Tuesday, sparking panic nearly a year-and-a-half after a quake killed thousands, AFP reported.


Citing Morocco's National Institute of Geophysics, the official MAP news agency said the earthquake struck the northwestern province of Ouezzane at 11:48 pm (2248 GMT) on Monday.


It was felt in several cities, including the capital Rabat around 200 kilometres (125 miles) south of the epicentre.


While the quake did not cause any reported casualties or damage, it triggered panic, with video s shared online showing people rushing from their homes in the middle of the night.


On September 8, 2023, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake shook the remote mountainous High Atlas region, killing nearly 3,000 people and damaging 60,000 homes.
