 Rivers PDP Caucus Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Members of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the National Assembly have announced their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The declaration was made in a joint statement signed by the caucus and read to journalists by Senator Barry Mpigi in Port Harcourt on Saturday. The caucus, which includes two Senators—Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyesoh—and seven House of Representatives members—Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Felix Nwaeke, Kelechi Nwogu, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, and Blessing Amadi—cited the tangible successes of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as the basis for their endorsement. A BILL TO AMEND THE LANDLORD AND TENANT LAW OF ENUGU STARE HAS BEEN READ FOR THE FIRST TIME. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 Today, a bill for a Law to amend the Landlord and Tenant Law of Enugu State has been read for the first time in the Enugu State House of Assembly. Among other things, the Law seeks to:


1) Ensure that anyone who wishes to be a land agent/manager must be certified


2) That there is a 10% ceiling for both Agency and Legal fees, the percentage can be negotiated lesser but never above 10%


3) That the tradition of caution fee be prohibited


4) That a defined duration for notices is stipulated


5) That a government ministry or agency is given the powers to make further regulations on Housing issues in Enugu State


Among other things.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
