 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana. A FLORIDA WOMAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR FATALLY SHOOTING HER HUSBAND AFTER HE BECAME VIOLENT WHEN THEIR 8-YEAR--OLD ACCIDENTALLY "MESSED" HIS PANTS. (PHOTO).

 A Florida woman has been sentenced to 25 years for fatally shooting her husband after he became violent when their 8-year-old accidentally "messed" his pants. 


The incident occurred on June 5th, 2024 at an apartment in Winter Springs, Florida.  On that date, the 8-year-old autistic son of 39-year-old Laurie Adams and 51-year-old Adel Tawfeek had an accident and defecated in his pants.


Upon learning of the accident, Tawfeek became enraged and began screaming at both the mother and son. Laurie had quietly cleaned her son and put him to bed, despite Tawfeek's angry rantings and ravings.


However after putting the child to bed, Tawfeek once again began screaming at Laurie and slammed her hard against a wall. He then grabbed a beer and went out to sit on the back porch to drink and smoke.


Laurie spent approximately 15 minutes trying to calm down and steady herself after Tawfeek's violent outburst. She then made her way to the couple's closet where she received Tawfeek's firearm and loaded it. Laurie then walked out onto the porch where Tawfeek was still drinking and smoking and shot Tawfeek once in the head. 


Laurie then called 911 and reported that she had shot Tawfeek.  When police arrived on scene they discovered Tawfeek on the porch suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away a short time later.


Laurie Adams was found guilty in the shooting death of Adel Tawfeek this week and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Her mother has taken over care for her young son.
