ADAMU GARBA CALLS FOR A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN EDO STATE, GIVES REASON. (PHOTO).

Police in Pontiac, Michigan were called to a home on Lydia Lane after the landlord requested a welfare check. The landlord informed authorities that he had not seen the renter since December and she had not paid rent since October. He had no Idea of the true horror taking place inside of the home.
What police found upon gaining entry to the home was as heartbreaking as it was infuriating. There were three teenage children living in the absolute worst conditions you can imagine. A 15-year-old boy as well as 12 and 13-year-old girls had been isolated from the world and abandoned by their mother for around 3 years.
The 15-year-old boy told police they had been "living alone since 2020 or 2021". The three children hadn't attended school in their 3 years of isolation and survived on prepared food that was left on the porch weekly. Although food was dropped off, no hygienic products or cleaning products had ever been left and the home and children were in a terrible state.
Police reported the children's toe nails where so long they had difficulty walking. And while the 15-year-old had a mattress on the floor the two girls made their beds on piles of discarded pizza boxes. When police arrived, the 2 girls locked themselves in the bathroom in fear, but were eventually able to be coaxed out.
As police surveyed the scene, what they saw left them disgusted and appalled at the conditions these poor children were forced to survive. There was trash everywhere piled as high as 4 feet in some areas. The home was covered in mold and human excrement. Inside of the bathroom the girls had locked themselves inside of, police discovered an overflowing toilet and a bathtub filled with excrement.
Neighbors told authorities they had no idea children even lived there as they had never seen them outside.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard called it "abuse of the highest order" and evidence technicians were forced to wear hazmat gear while processing the scene.
The children were taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being placed into the care of relatives. The 34-year-old mother has been arrested but her identity is being withheld to protect the children.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department is collecting donations in an attempt to give these poor children who have suffered unimaginable conditions a fresh chance at life.
We will update the story when more information becomes available.
