 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. A MISSISSIPPI MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED AFTER A YOUNG WOMAN WAS FOUND FATALLY BEATEN IN A MOTEL ROOM. (PHOTO).

A Mississippi man has been arrested after a young woman was found fatally beaten in a motel room. 


Police were called to the CYO Townhouse in North Jackson, Mississippi at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan 4th. Once on scene, officials discovered the deceased and horribly beaten body of 21-year-old, Jessenia Cruz. 


According to Jackson PD Chief Joseph Wade, Cruz had lost her life, "in the most brutal way.' He shared, "She received some very, very large traumatic injuries and trauma to her body." He continued, "She lost her life last night at the hands of someone who literally beat her to death."


Police would eventually identify a suspect and the search would begin. Finally, an arrest was made at approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday when authorities took 24-year-old Joshua Boothe into custody.  


Joshua Boothe was charged with murder and had his bond set at 2 million dollars.


Our thoughts are with Jessenia and everyone that loved her. This is a tragic way to lose someone.
