 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. DISASTER DECLARED FOR DAMAGED ROADS IN MOPANI DISTRICT SOUTH AFRICA. (PHOTOS).


 Disaster Declared for Damaged Roads in Mopani District


The Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure has declared several roads in Mopani District as disaster areas following extensive damage caused by recent severe weather conditions.


Some of the worst-affected areas include Mawa, Boqa, and Ndhambi villages, along with multiple other locations across the province. Authorities have urged road users to exercise extreme caution while traveling, as many roads remain hazardous.


The department is currently assessing the full extent of the damage to plan effective recovery and repair operations. Mop-up efforts will commence as soon as evaluations are complete to restore safe and accessible road conditions.


Motorists and residents are advised to stay updated on road conditions and follow official safety guidelines to avoid accidents or further infrastructure strain.
