FCT President Cup: EFCC FC to Battle FWC FC in the Final

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Football Club will on Saturday, February 22, 2025 battle Family Worship Center, FWC Football Club of Abuja in the final encounter of FCT Presidentā€™s Cup.

The four times champions and the current cup holders, EFCC FC earned a semi-final victory over Galadima FC when Striker Obinna Uchechukwu scored in the 64th minute to seal victory at 1-0 on Monday, February 17, 2024.

Speaking on his expectations for the Saturdayā€™s game, EFCC FC Coach, Kabiru Adeyemi stated that his target was to retain the trophy as his eyes were fixed on qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup through the national finals.

ā€œThis isnā€™t my first time of playing in this tournament and this will be my sixth final with EFCC FC of Abuja, so I can say one way or the other, Iā€™ve known the rudiments of the FA CUP, but I give glory to the Almighty because there is one thing in FA Cup, which is donā€™t underrate any team. If you try it, youā€™ll be embarrassed. I saw what they did to Milantarki Care FC at the quarterfinal stage and that was why I needed to psyche my players up. We need to add more tempo and intensity to our training so that we can withstand them. They are a young team with nothing to lose if we beat them. We are the bigger team, so we need to prove ourselves by winning the game," he said.

Speaking further, he said, ā€œOur fans should be expecting the trophy. We are the defending champions. Even my management, thatā€™s what they need. Last year we were able to play up to the quarterfinals in the national FA Cup, this year weā€™re hoping to represent FCT at the continental level.ā€

The match, scheduled to be played on Saturday will kick off  by 3pm at the FCT Sports Complex, Area 3, Garki, Abuja.
