 A 19-year-old Texas man survived a lightning strike while fishing with his mother the day before Mothers Day. Hunter Wyche proclaimed himself the "unluckiest lucky man" after he was struck by lightning on Saturday, May 10th. Hunter had taken his mother fishing along the Angelina River and was expecting a relaxing day catching up with his mom and maybe catching a few fish. However, while Hunter leaned against a tree, lightning struck, throwing him several feet and leaving him unconscious and wounded. Hunter blacked out during the ordeal and awoke to his mother and a crowd of people around him. As Hunter regained consciousness, he couldn't move his right foot and could barely move his leg. He believes the strike went through his stomach down his right leg and back out through the top of his foot.  The strike also caused wood to explode everywhere, leaving him with wood shrapnel embedded in his skin and face. The Executive Director of Project Implementation at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Remi Omowaiye on Monday escaped assassination by a whisker along Osogbo/Ilesa road.

The Nation gathered that the incident occurred around 2:05 PM on Monday in front of Ilesa West local government area when the ex-Commissioner for Works was en route to Osogbo.

According to sources, Omowaiye had mobilized members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ilesa to Police Command Area Command to seek their protection so as for the reinstated local government executives to resume councils.

Meanwhile, they left the police headquarters in Ilesa for APC secretariats where they were dispatched to their homes.

While the ED was returning to Osogbo in a white Toyota Hummer bumper, he ran into an ambush in front of Ilesa West local government as the bus was riddled with bullets.

Speaking with The Nation shortly after the attack, Omowaiye narrated his close encounter with death disclosing that his driver and a policeman sustained gunshot injuries.

According to him, “I was returning to Osogbo from Ilesha when we ran into an ambush in front of Ilesa West Local government. They shot at where I was sitting on the bus, bullet shattered the side windscreen.

“My driver and police orderly sustained serious gunshot wounds. They have been taken to hospital for treatment.”

He also disclosed that the reinstated chairman of Ilesa East car was also attacked on the spot where he was ambushed.

Omowaiye demanded that those involved must be brought to justice.
