 Fire Razes Trucks at Kwara Park A fire outbreak at Alagbede Tipper Garage in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State early Tuesday morning destroyed three trucks out of 42 parked at the site. Reports indicate that the fire began around 1:45 a.m. from a waste collection truck containing refuse, which ignited and spread to two other trucks before firefighters managed to contain it. Confirming the incident, Hassan Adekunle, spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, stated, “The fire service received a distress call at 1:35 a.m. and promptly responded. Thanks to the firefighters’ swift intervention, the fire was contained, limiting damage to just three trucks.” Preliminary findings revealed that smoldering charcoal in the refuse truck caused the ignition. Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Monday, a shop at No. 1 Awolowo Road, Tanke, Ilorin, was gutted by fire. Firefighters contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby shops. Uzodimma appoints new GM for ENTRACO, five other Special Advisers


Governor Hope Uzodimma has approved the appointment of Mr. Anthony Anyaehie as the new General Manager (GM) for the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission ( ENTRACO).


Anyaehie replaces Hon. Engr. Francis Chukwu, now nominated Special Adviser, Livestock.


Other Special Advisers (SAs) whose approval the Governor has given include:


Ebere Hilary - Environment

Oluchi Sonate Praise - Event II.

Abigail Chikere - Visual Communication (Photographic Media) I

Aloysius Emmanuel Chinenye - Visual Communication (Photographic Media) II.


The appointments are with immediate effect.
