Japan Airlines and Delta Airlines planes collide on Seattle runway
Two planes have collided on the runway at a major US airport.
Footage shows a Japan Airlines plane entangled with a Delta Air Lines jet at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Thursday morning (AEST).
The incident occurred around 10.17am Seattle time on Wednesday between the S Concourse and the south airport maintenance hangars.
The Japan Airlines aircraft was taxing when it rammed the back of the packed US carrier, reportedly striking the tail of the parked aircraft.
Terrified passengers, who were located between S Concourse and the south maintenance hangars, were astonished to see the wing embedded into the tail from outside their windows. No injuries were reported and there was minimal impact to airport operations. Images online showed the Japan Airlines wing cut right through the Delta tail.
