 CURBING OPEN DEFECATION: LASG, WATERAID, PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATE TO BUILD 350 PUBLIC TOILETS IN LAGOS  The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with WaterAid Plan and private operators, is set to build 350 more public toilets across the state to curb widespread open defecation and maintain hygiene and sanitation.  This is just as the State WaterAid team lead gave a projection that by 2028, the organisation will reach 10 million residents directly and another 17 million indirectly through interventions with basic Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) access. Speaking at a roundtable over the weekend, the Special Adviser on Environment, Engr. Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu said work has started on some of the toilets including identifying the locations for them.  LEKKI AIRPORT: LASG SIGNS MEMORANDUM WITH INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SUMMA GROUP 


 The Lagos State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the internationally renowned Summa Group to develop and construct the highly anticipated Lekki-Epe International Airport which is one of the stateā€™s flagship Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.


Speaking during the signing ceremony, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu said the project aligns with the Stateā€™s vision to enhance connectivity, drive economic growth, and attract global investments in the state.


He explained further that if the Lekki-Epe International Airport is fully operational, it will decongest the existing Muritala Muhammed International Airport, unlock new opportunities for businesses to strive and would also be of immense benefit to the residents of Lagos State in other areas.
