 EFCC Arraigns Austrian For Undeclared $800,585, €651,505 At Lagos Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Okotie Eboh, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 9, 2026, arraigned one  Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. He was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos.  Onal who was scheduled to travel on Emirates Airline to Dubai, was on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 intercepted  during a routine check at the AML/ CFT Currency Declaration Desk at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

MOHBAD'S DEATH: COURT EXONERATES NAIRA MARLEY, SAM LARRY, PRIMEBOY. (PHOTO).

 A Magistrate Court has acquitted Nigerian singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, of any wrongdoing in the death of fellow artist Aloba Oladimeji lleriOluwa, also known as Mohbad. The court's decision was based on the legal advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) Lagos, which stated that Naira Marley had no case to answer.


Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje also freed music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad's former manager, Opere Babatunde, of any involvement in Mohbad's death.


However, the DPP announced that it will prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad's, for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The prosecution will take place at the Magistrate Court.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
