 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Nasarawa Governor Fires Special Advisers, Aides Over Poor Performance


Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dismissed all Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants, citing their failure to effectively implement government policies and programs.


He announced the immediate dismissal on Friday during the swearing-in of the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, at the Government House in Lafia.


At the event, Commodore Yahaya Owuna (rtd.) was also inaugurated as the sole administrator of Udege Administrative Area, alongside the newly appointed chairman and board members of the College of Education, Akwanga.


Governor Sule emphasized that the reshuffle aims to enhance governance and improve service delivery in the state. While acknowledging the contributions of the dismissed aides, he thanked them for their service and urged them to continue supporting the state’s development.
