 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies.  Nollywood Actress Ini Edo Mourns the Loss of Her Father


Nigerian actress Ini Edo has announced the passing of her father, taking to Instagram to share her grief. In a heartfelt post on Monday evening, Ini Edo described her late father as her "greatest cheerleader" and "first love," stating that he will forever remain in her heart.


The actress expressed her sadness, saying, "This post has been the hardest to make... I have lost my greatest cheerleader... My Beloved Father, My first Love..The Heavens have gained an Angel. You will forever remain in my heart. Rest on King."
