 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen.  Osun Communal Clash: Wole Oke Calls for Peace and Justice


Wole Oke, the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sorrow over the violent clash in Esa Oke, Osun State, which resulted in multiple casualties.


In a statement from his media office, Oke commended security agencies for their prompt response in preventing further escalation. He condemned the killings, emphasizing that violence is never a solution and urging the community to embrace peace.


Calling for an impartial investigation, he stressed that justice must be served for the victims. He also appealed for the release of wrongfully detained individuals and free medical care for the injured.


The crisis erupted following the appointment of Prince Timileyin Oluyemi Ajayi as the Olojudo of Ido-Ayegunle. In response, Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attacks.
