 FG MOVES TO CUT EDUCATION COSTS, PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY WITH REUSABLE TEXTBOOK POLICY The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive policy framework aimed at reducing the cost of education for parents, improving learning outcomes, and promoting sustainability in schools through the adoption of reusable, high-quality textbooks and strengthened quality assurance mechanisms. The policy, jointly issued by the Honourable Minister of Education  Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and the Honourable Minister of State for Education Prof Suiwaba Sai'd, forms part of ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s education sector and ease the financial burden on families.  Osun Crisis: Reinstated LG Chairmen Threaten Workers with Dismissal for Non-Compliance


The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has issued a 72-hour ultimatum for local government workers to resume work or face termination, following the reinstatement of its chairmen. The party accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of plotting to incite violence against the reinstated officials using Amotekun and alleged militants from Oyo and the Niger Delta.


The APC further claimed that PDP leaders, including Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, were involved in efforts to destabilize the state. It called on security agencies to investigate suspected armed groups allegedly being trained at the Chief of Staff’s residence.


Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) reaffirmed its directive for local government workers to withdraw their services due to safety concerns, emphasizing its commitment to protecting workers’ rights amidst the political crisis.
