  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  Osun LG polls: OSSIEC issues certificates of return to elected chairmen


The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Barrister Hashim Abioye on Sunday, presented Certificates of Return to the elected Chairmen in the just-concluded local government elections, held on Saturday, 22nd of February, 2025.


While presenting the certificate, the OSSIEC Chairman, charged them to be good ambassadors of democracy both in conduct and service to the people.


He, however, congratulated them and wished them success as they paddle the canoes of their respective councils.
