 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers During Insurance Enforcement in Kogi


The Nigeria Police in Kogi State have arrested two suspected armed robbers, identified as Mohammed Chelim and Oneh Mohammed, along the Harbour Bay-Egume Road.


The suspects were apprehended during the enforcement of Third-Party Insurance, following the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.


Recovered Weapons and Investigation


Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Ovye Aya, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Friday, revealing that the suspects were found in possession of two locally made pistols.


“During interrogation, they failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their movements, prompting a search that led to the discovery of a locally made pistol,” the statement read.


Police Commitment to Security


The Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, commended the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working with other security agencies to eliminate criminal activities in the state.


Residents were also urged to support security efforts by providing credible information on suspicious activities in the state.one more photo below.
